A lot of the time I visit smaller YouTube channels and I see that any of the comments that other people have left have completely gone ignored with no reply from the account owner.
This is something you want to avoid doing and from the beginning it’s a great idea to engage and interact with your subscribers, especially those that are leaving comments or sharing your videos.
Having good engagement is definitely one of YouTube’s own ranking factors and is also going to show other people viewing your videos that might not be currently subscribed that you’re actually a real human being and willing to take the time to interact with the people on your channel.
Good engagement is definitely going to lead to more views as well as social shares so this is going to help you get more subscribers in the long run long as you keep up with it.
Have a Channel Trailer
One useful feature that YouTube has to offer is the channel trailer feature and these are videos that play automatically whenever someone lands on the homepage of your channel.

On social media you can include a link to your YouTube account in your bio or description or if you’re uploading photos you can have a nice little call to action directing people to check out your YouTube if they’re looking for more engaging content.
This is a pretty effective way at not only getting more views to all of your different videos across a variety of different platforms but it’s also going to help you increase engagement overall as well as gain more subscribers who otherwise might have never have found your channel.
Don’t forget to include links back to your website and any relevant blog posts that you have in the description of your videos as well so that you can take advantage of the traffic coming from both ends of the spectrum.
Keep Your Videos Short
Depending on the niche of your channel, you’re going to be better off with a shorter video rather than something longer.
For things like reviews and vlogs you might find that the length of videos can be 10 to 20 minutes but most creators are going to be good creating videos in the 3 to 5 minute length.
These shorter videos are especially good if you’re hoping to convert your viewers for something related to your online business and regular users would prefer to watch something shorter as well so if they find your content interesting they’re more likely to subscribe to shorter content.

Editing is just one of the many aspects of the different skills you have to develop when you’re building a YouTube channel and it’s something that you’re going to get better at over time the more practice that you get.
It’s going to take a good 100 videos or so before you get into your editing rhythm and you’re going to constantly look back at the past content that you have published and cringe at how poorly you perceive the quality to be.
Better editing is going to result in better quality videos that are going to be more engaging for the audience and this is going to lead to more viewers and ultimately more subscriptions.
Editing starts before you even open up your favorite video editing software and right when you start recording video you’re going to want to take multiple takes until you can settle on the right one and constantly work on updating your script until everything sounds perfect.
Again, this is going to get much easier with practice and eventually you’ll develop a quick editing system that works quite well for both you and your viewers.
Make sure to take the time to learn how to edit properly and never upload just raw footage unless it’s what your channel is about.
